A useful monitoring system begins with a decision. What should the team do differently when a value changes, a threshold is crossed, or a device stops reporting? If there is no practical response, collecting more data will not improve the operation.

Choose signals that connect to equipment condition, production risk, energy performance, or service timing. Set alert levels around the site's real operating range and define who receives each alert. Too many notifications quickly become background noise.

Start with a small group of important assets, test communications under actual site conditions, and review the first weeks of data with operators and maintenance staff. The best system is not the one with the most points. It is the one that helps the right person act earlier and with better context.
